All ANAI residencies will be hosted at the purpose built ANAI Foundation building located in Okun Ajah, with the attendant facilities and creative workspaces.  Our residency programmes will nurture and support the participating artists by offering space, time, and resources to produce new work, as well as a public platform to share and develop their ideas.   ANAI will run the following three residency programmes:

  • Facilitator Residencies (funded by ANAI Foundation sponsors and donors)

ANAI will invite experienced practitioners in their field to collaborate with and enhance the technical skills of local creative practitioners.  The programme will launch in January 2019 with two facilitators in the field of ceramics to help kick-start our in-house ceramics studio and ceramics apprenticeship programme, by providing technical training and mentoring to staff and other practitioners in the field.

  • Emerging/Young Artists Residencies (funded by ANAI Foundation sponsors and donors)

This programme will focus on supporting emerging practice and will enable emerging and mid-career artists in Nigeria an opportunity to produce new work, on a major public platform.  The residency takes the form of free studio provision and aim to relieve an artist from pressure for a period during which they can focus on their practice and progress within their chosen field.

Artist Residency Programme (funded by applicants) –  From time to time ANAI will issue an open call for artists in residence.  Open to both local and international  artists.
